Understanding Copyright Law:
"A Fair(y) Use Tale"

The video below was created by Eric Faden, Professor of Film Studies at Bucknell University.  This short film explains copyright law and the principle of "Fair Use" while also registering a complaint against the way copyright laws have been extended in recent years. Faden's use of Disney clips to make his point is fascinating and telling!

Remember that a copyright violation has to do with "borrowing" someone else's work without permission, while plagiarism has to do with representing someone else's work as one's own.
